We will be happy to post notices of your up-coming reunions when your family has a Wood County connection. Contact Betty Miller or Betty Phillips.
Researchers: Please keep Webmaster advised of your latest e-mail address! Otherwise you lose answers to your queries and any other help you might receive from these pages. The following researchers are lost (e-mail address no longer current, and no backup postal address). Any help in finding these folks will be appreciated.
Queries and/or registrations by the following researchers will be removed unless we are advised of a current address.
A volunteer researcher is preparing a history of the First Methodist Church in Mineola, TX. He has old membership records, etc., and has volunteered to do lookups. If you need such a lookup, send your e-mail request to me (click at the bottom of this page) and I will forward it. More important, if you have any information that you could contribute to this project, please forward that to me also.
Helpful? Tip: An unpublished manuscript (several volumes) by F.W. Leach, traces the descendants of all of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence. The LDS has the manuscript on microfilm. The item you'd need to order at your nearest LDS Family History Center is "Film #0001754, item #2." The "book" by Mr. Leach was never published -- only 4 copies exist of his manuscript.
We received a short piece about the practice of hog slaughter in Pleasant Grove in the 1940's. Most of our ancestors followed approximately the same practices. We are thankful for the contribution, and thought you might enjoy it. The descriptions are somewhat graphic, but then that's the way it was. Take a peek at: Hog Killing Time in East Texas .
